For Designer and Art Director Alex Haigh says, “An early obsession with type was the first clue that letters would take a leading role among my design devotions.” In 2007 he was able to transform his passion into a reality as he started his foundry, Thinkdust.
Just a short time after his debut, the UK-based designer saw success with his Miyagi and BAQ Rounded typefaces. His foundry continued to make high-quality fonts such as Vow, and Nanami, one of his best-selling fonts, which spent its first four weeks at #1 best selling spot on various font shops around the world.
Alex wasn't happy with just one foundry, so he continued by turning his passion into a business and founded the online font shop HypeForType in 2009. HypeForType quickly grew to become the UK's biggest online font distributor and currently distributes over 20,000 fonts for 200+ foundries in more than 47 countries.
Constantly aiming to provide quality and variety to the type world, Alex credits his “determination, work ethic, and relentless drive” as the inspiration for his mantra: “Work like an idiot until you’re happy.”
